About us
Saratoga Hindu Temple was founded in December 2012. This dream was first discussed September 2008 and we are actively working to turn this dream into reality. The Initial Directors of this project are: A. Nagpal, N. Agarwal and R. Kumar.
OUR CHARTER is to : Build a Unified integrated community, Support and strengthen the spiritual, health and moral fabric of our society, and Facilitate education and learning of Hindu religion scriptures and vedas, spirituality and Indian origin languages. Click on Charter above for details.
We launched our Hindu Temple festival series with Lori Pongal in January 2012, followed by Basant Panchami / Saraswati Pooja celebrated at Saratoga library in March 2012. In April, we launched our temporary new location. The St Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church @18870 Allendale Ave, Saratoga, CA 95070, has welcomed us to use the facilities on a NEED TO USE basis. Cannot thank them enough. We are very fortunate to live in a community such as ours, with such welcoming neighbors.
In 2014 with the ongoing spurt of classes and offerings, we moved to the Saratoga Community Center and have been holding our weekly Sunday classes and the various celebrations there.
Our charter entails a future that involves involvement of all Saratogans, and the neighboring Silicon Valley community for spiritual, healthy and stress-free living, opportunities of learning, celebrating our oneness and together contribution for a better, peaceful world
