About us
The Saratoga Hindu Temple, established in December 2012, was born from a dream that was first discussed in September 2008. Since then, we have been actively working to transform this dream into a reality. The initial directors of this project were A. Nagpal, N. Agarwal, and R. Kumar.
Our mission is to build a unified and integrated community, support and strengthen the spiritual, health, and moral fabric of our society, and facilitate education and learning of Hindu scriptures, Vedas, spirituality, and Indian languages. For more details, click on the Charter link above.
We initiated our Hindu Temple festival series with Lori Pongal in January 2012, followed by Basant Panchami/Saraswati Pooja celebrated at Saratoga Library in March 2012. In April, we found a temporary location at St Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church on 18870 Allendale Ave, Saratoga, CA 95070. We are immensely grateful for their warm welcome and the use of their facilities whenever needed. We are fortunate to have such welcoming neighbors in our community.
In 2014, as our classes and offerings expanded, we relocated to the Saratoga Community Center, where we now hold our weekly Sunday classes and various celebrations.
Our charter envisions a future where all Saratogans and the neighboring Silicon Valley community come together for spiritual, healthy, and stress-free living. It is an opportunity for learning, celebrating our unity, and making collective contributions towards a better and more peaceful world.
